Find My Box is a Meta Quest mixed reality (MR) app that helps you attach virtual labels to real-world storage boxes. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it (including cloud sync and sharing), and how you can request deletion.

Key identifiers
  • We collect and store USER_ID to associate your labels with your Meta account.
  • We collect and store USER_PROFILE (username and profile image, if available) to show who shared a label.

Data we collect

The app collects and processes Meta platform data (USER_ID and USER_PROFILE) and the content you create in the app (labels and related placement references).

  • When you share a label, show recipients who shared it (your username and, if available, profile picture)
Stored in our cloud database to support sharing and related features until you delete your data or request deletion.
User-generated content Label content you create, such as label name and box contents list/notes.
  • Create, display, search, and manage labels
  • Cloud sync/backup and restoration (if enabled)
  • Sharing labels with other users (when you choose to share)
 Stored on your device and, when cloud sync/backup or sharing is used, stored in our cloud database until deletion.
Spatial anchor references Placement-related data such as spatial anchor UUID references and label-to-anchor associations. This may reflect relative locations/layout in your physical space.
  • Restore and align virtual labels to real-world box locations across sessions
 Stored on-device and may be stored with your label data for sync/sharing. Spatial anchors may also be processed/stored by Meta as part of the platform feature under Meta’s policies.

We do not sell your data and we do not use USER_ID or USER_PROFILE for advertising or marketing.

How we use data

  • Provide core app features (create, view, search, and manage labels).
  • Enable cloud sync/backup and restoration across devices.
  • Enable sharing features and show attribution (who shared).
  • Protect the service (access control and abuse prevention).

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We do not use your data to build marketing profiles or for cross-app tracking.

Sharing & disclosure

We share data only in the following cases:

  • With people you choose to share with: when you share a label, recipients can see the shared label content. Recipients can also see your username (and profile picture if available) as the person who shared the label. We do not share your USER_ID with other users.
  • With service providers: we may use cloud infrastructure or database providers to host and process data on our behalf (only as needed to provide the service, under contractual and access controls).
  • With Meta: Meta platform features may process data under Meta’s own policies when you use them.
  • Legal reasons: if required to comply with law or protect rights/safety.

Retention

We retain your cloud-stored data for as long as needed to provide the service and until you delete it or request deletion. After deletion, some residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.

Deletion requests

  • You can delete labels in the app. If cloud sync/backup or sharing is enabled, we delete the corresponding cloud records as well.
  • To request deletion of all cloud data associated with your Meta account (including records keyed by USER_ID), email support@bbape.com with the subject Find My Box Data Deletion Request and include your Meta Quest username (and/or Meta User ID) for verification.
  • We process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days) and confirm completion.

Security

We use security measures designed to protect data, including HTTPS/TLS in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
